
Eleonore has three decades of professional experience as a theatre artist with companies in Toronto and New York City. She was co-founder and director of GENERIC/RIVERHEART THEATRE COMPANY with whom she performed, directed and wrote for fourteen years, and was nominated for a DORA MAVOR MOORE AWARD for OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE for her work in her own play "Before Eve".
Her passion for visual poetry and world music, in combination with her extensive background in dance, music, and the martial arts, has led her into the eclectic realm of experimental/environmental/ physical theatre. After working with experimental companies in both New York and Toronto, she has spent the last several years developing and exploring the possibilities of theatre, and now focuses on teaching and developing theatre works for, and with young artists.
She has led youth workshops with
Soulpepper Theatre and is movement instructor with the
Globe Theatre Actor Conservatory. She has taught and developed programs for
University of Toronto’s Outreach Programs for high school students, and for six years, she was program director at
Centauri Arts Camp where she first introduced para theatre programs for youth.
